Chinese Words Learning-“跟(ɡen1)” VS “和(he2)”

Dear friends, welcome to our online Chinese language school and today we will help you to distinguish the two Chinese words: “(ɡen1)” and “(he2,)”

 

In the Chinese language, “(ɡen1)” is usually used as a verb meaning “to follow.” For Example:   来!(Gen1 wo3 lai2!)  Follow me!

 

But when it is used as a conjunction, “(ɡen1)” share the same meaning and usage with “(he2)” meaning “and.” The structure is: A + (ɡen1)/(he2) + B. However, as a preposition, (ɡen1)” has another meaning of “from.” “(he2)” have no such meaning.
